Mana Mana: Elõször is honnan jött az Ursula 1000 név?

Ursula 1000: A kedvenc szinésznõm, Ursula Andress és egy olyan futurisztikus szám kombinációjából keletkezett, amit az emberek az olyan produkciókhoz adtak hozzá, mint például a Galaxy 500, stb. a '60-as években. Így mosódik össze a múlt a jövõvel, ugyanúgy, mint a zenémben.

MM: Mikor kezdtél el zenét csinálni? Dj-ként kezdted, vagy számokat csináltál elõbb?

U: Rockbandákkal kezdtem, és mindig gyûjtöttem a lemezeket. Aztán elkezdtem dj-zni, majd az egész, a zeneírás és a dj-zés összekeveredett, és elkezdtem csinálni a saját õrült zenémet!

MM: New Yorkban élsz. Melyik részén szoktál játszani? Egyszer elhagytad NY-ot és Miamiba költöztél. Miért?

U: Eredetileg new yorki vagyok és azért költöztem Miamiba, mert az apám latin zenekarát hosszú idõre meghívták vendégelõadónak egy neves klubba. Végül meguntam Floridát és eldöntöttem hogy visszaköltözöm New Yorkba, ahova a szívem húz. Számomra ez az otthon. Általában Manhattanben játszom péntek és szombat esténként.

MM: Mennyire elfogadott ott a zenéd? Milyen az ottani klubélet?

U: Kezdenek elterjedni az ilyen zenék. A house és a hip hop még mindig meghatározó. A partikon megpróbálom az egészet vegyíteni. Általában 4-6 órákat játszom, úgyhogy minden megtalálható a zenémben, funky latin breakbeat-en, az elektrón a szambán, a house-on keresztül...PRINCE-ig!

MM: A legutóbbi EP-d, a Beat Box Cha Cha meleg fogadtatásban részesült?

U: Igen, nagyon is! Ez egy vicces kis szám ami remélem mosolyt varázsol az emberek arcára, és táncolásra készteti õket a táncparketten is.

MM: Milyen hangszereket szoktál általában használni?

U: Nagyrészt az Akai MPC2000-et, de csomó régi szintit is használok, mint például a Korg Poly 6, Roland 303, régi Casio-kat...tényleg mindenfélét!

MM: Mi a kedvenc együttesed az államokban és Európában?

U: Nehéz kérdés...! Nálam ez napról napra változik! A Playgroup albumot szeretem, csomó angliai zenét, és persze az Eighteenth Street Lounge Music cuccokat is!

MM: Az új albumodat már be is fejezted! Mikor kerül az európai lemezboltokba?

U: Igen, Kinda' Kinky a címe és az államokban április 16-án fog megjelenni! Európában valószínûleg a rákövetkezõ héten!

MM: A Thunderball-lal koncertezel most. Tervezel európai koncertet is? Mikor?

U: Remélem! Szeretek a Thunderball-lal játszani és dj-zni! Áprilisban turnézom Nicola Conte-vel az USA-ban, és remélem hogy ezt ki tudjuk terjeszteni Európára is májusban, vagy júniusban egy nagy turné keretében!

MM: Tervek a közeli és távoli jövõre?

U: Készen lenni az album kiadására, remixeket csinálni, dj-zni, lemezeket venni, klippen dolgozni, várni az új Harry Potter könyvet! ...és élni az életet a lehetõ legjobban! Turné idõpontokat és híreket olvashattok a www.ursula1000.com oldalon.

Mana Mana : First of all, how was your name come Ursula 1000?

Ursula 1000: I got the name by combining the lovely actress Ursula Andress with a futuristic number like people would add on to products like Galaxy 500, etc in the 60's, therefore combing retro with future, like my music.

MM: When You've been started to make music? Did You start with Dj-ing first, or made tracks?

U: I started in rock bands and I always collected records. Then I started to dj and eventually it all got mixed up, the playing and the djing and I had to start doing
my own crazy tracks!

MM: Your location is in New York. Wich part of NY do you usually play? Once You left NY, and moved to Miami each. Why?

U: I'm originally from New York and then moved to Miami Beach because my father's latin orchestra had a long residency in one of the popular dinner clubs. I finally grew tired of Florida and decided to move back to New York, where
my heart is. This is home for me! I usually play in Manhattan on friday and saturday nights.

MM: How are these styles running there? How is like the club life?

U: That sound is starting to get around. It still is very house music intensive and hip hop too. I try to blend it all together at my parties I usually play for 4 to 6 hours so you will hear everything from funky latin breakbeats to electro to samba, house to......PRINCE!

MM: Was your latest EP, the Beat Box Cha Cha, met with a warm response?

U: Yes, very much so. It's a silly track that I hope puts a smile on people's faces and gets them grooving on the dancefloor too!

MM: What kind of instruments do You usually use?

U: I mainly use the Akai MPC2000 and I use a lot of old synths like the Korg Poly 6, Roland 303, old Casios...anything really!

MM: What is your favourite band, group, project in the States, and in Europe?

U: Hmmm...hard to say. It changes everyday for me! I like the Playgroup album a lot from the UK and of course I love all the Eighteenth Street Lounge Music stuff too. I've been listening to a lot of old new wave recently. It's really all over the place!

MM: Your next album is finished already, when can we buy it in the European shops?

U: Yes, its called Kinda' Kinky and its out here in the US on April 16 and probably in Europe the week after I think. It's a fun record.

MM: You're on tour with Thunderball. Do You planning a tour in Europe? When?

U: I hope so! I love to play and dj with Thunderball. I'm on tour with Nicola Conte here in the US in April and I hope to make it out to Europe in May or June for a big tour.

MM: Plans for the near, and distant future?
